For July 18, shot with a Nikon D60
Unexpected

I had recently gone for a walk around my mother’s house, which is situated in a small clearing on a densely wooded hill. I did not expect to see a shiny, white stone in the middle of the path.

Hosta

I love hostas, but I’ve not had any luck keeping them alive healthy since moving to Florida. This one I found while on a recent trip to Tennessee, along with a surprise guest.

what an interesting rock… how come it is there? it looks like it can be used for deco or ornamentation..

  23. 2009 July 19

Funny how often you find a rock clearly out of its spot. I always wonder what quirk of fate brought it there . . .

  24. 2009 July 19

Our hostas have fallen victim this summer to a) too much rain b) not enough rain c) deer. Love the capture of the bumble bee; the white stone looks a tad like a beacon in the forest!

These are incredible! That hippos is the most amazing shot I’ve seen anywhere for a long time! I wish our Zoo would do something like this – how awesome.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!
