PhotoHunt: Rock(s)
For July 18, shot with a Nikon D60

I had recently gone for a walk around my mother’s house, which is situated in a small clearing on a densely wooded hill. I did not expect to see a shiny, white stone in the middle of the path.

Straight out of Camera

I love hostas, but I’ve not had any luck keeping them alive healthy since moving to Florida. This one I found while on a recent trip to Tennessee, along with a surprise guest.
Visit Melody at Slurping Life for more Straight Out Of the Camera shots. Photos shared without editing, without cropping, without alterations of any kind.

Lovely shots both.
Have a great weekend!
That rock looks so refined – definitely a surprise. Love the little upside-down bee, too.
I played, too – hope you’ll stop by!
What great photos! I love the bee! WOW!
Very nice. The photo of the stone brought back memories of “The Shawshank Redemption”.
“At the base of that wall, you’ll find a rock that has no earthly business in a Maine hayfield.” – Andy Dufresne
Wow….that should be considered a good omen of some kind…the smoothness of the rock is amazing.
My rocks are now posted. Won’t you try to stop by to view my photos today? Have a great weekend.
That first rock, well, rocks! Great photos
So neat!
I love the rock. It looks almost blue.
that rock is beautiful.

That is a beautiful white rock.
Very nice. I love the contrast of the white stone against the rest of nature’s background.

Two wonderful theme photos. The white rock was a wonderful find!
Smooth, rounded rocks like this always feel lucky! Growing up, I always made sure I had one in my pocket! Great photo!
A treasure! Oh man….that is so cool Tara. I love when you are out for a walk and you are surprised by finding a treasure like that. I just love stones and rocks of any kind….and that one’s just beautiful. You don’t find them every day. Enjoy your weekend sweetie… ~Joy
My son’s eyes grew big when he saw your rock! Nice one!

Great shots! I wouldn’t expect to find that rock either.
You always take amazing photos. Both are stunning!
My rocks are here.
That’s very pretty. Is it the Sorcerer’s Stone?
Lovely white rock, Tara.
I love the rock and the bee was a surprise.
That is quite a shiny rock!
what an interesting rock… how come it is there? it looks like it can be used for deco or ornamentation..
Funny how often you find a rock clearly out of its spot. I always wonder what quirk of fate brought it there . . .
Our hostas have fallen victim this summer to a) too much rain b) not enough rain c) deer. Love the capture of the bumble bee; the white stone looks a tad like a beacon in the forest!
These are incredible! That hippos is the most amazing shot I’ve seen anywhere for a long time! I wish our Zoo would do something like this – how awesome.
Thanks for visiting my blog today!
That is an unusual find in amongst the woodland.
I LOVE the bee shot! And that white stone is very cool!
xo
Wow, I can see you were very inspired, what a great series of pictures this is! I love the fat lady, and the giraffe looks surprised!
But I’m not. I know you’ve got talent!
