Unsolved missing person cases

2008 December 4

Since I’m not familiar with what is an acceptable record for solving missing person cases, I don’t know whether to be impressed or shocked with this news story about the number of open investigations currently in Anchorage. There are about 90 unsolved missing person cases, some dating back more than 30 years.

Basing my opinion solely on the reported efforts of what is/was being done to help locate Beany (So Grateful to be Mormon), I do know I am not encouraged.

Wednesday on Anchorage KTVA Channel 11:

“The challenge of finding the missing”

If you have any information concerning the disappearance or whereabouts of Kathleen (Beany) McBroom (missing since Oct. 27), please contact Det. Cynthia Bradley of the Anchorage police department at (907) 786-8817 or you can provide information anonymously by calling Anchorage Crime Stoppers at (907) 561-STOP (7867).

I was gone on vacation so I am busy catching up. I was hoping I’d get back and they would have found her, sorry.

I couldn’t find how many were unsolved, but in the year 2004, in Los Angeles there were 37,809 cases of adult missing persons reported.

That is HORRIFIC, and is so un-encouraging. I really miss her. I hope she comes home soon.

This is so terrible, for so many reasons. I mean, even if she just woke up one morning and decided that she wanted a new life, which is how they have made it sounds, doesn’t that indicate that she might need HELP? Aarrrgh…..

    Wow. That’s horrible.
