UPDATE on Beany ~ nothing new in missing person case

2008 November 20

Anchorage news station KTUU Channel 2 ran this update, with video, on Kathleen (Beany) McBroom (So Grateful to be Mormon) yesterday. It features interviews with the trucker who initially called the state Troopers when he saw her truck hit a guardrail, and with local police detective Sgt. Denny Allen.

Mystery still surrounds woman’s disappearance

I couldn’t find any additional reports from the other news outlets in Anchorage.

Beany has been missing since Oct. 27. If you have any information regarding the disappearance of Sheila Kathleen (Beany) McBroom. Please call Det. Cynthia Bradley  at (907) 786-8817 or e-mail cbradley@ci.anchorage.ak.us

This is unreal…surreal. I’ve been out of the blogosphere since early October, so when I saw the picture of beany on your sidebar, I thought it was a joke at first–just the two of you ribbing each other. To make sure, I checked in with her blog (again–gone since early oct.). I only wish it was just a joke. Thanks for keeping us updated.

This whole thing is so surreal.

I was going to email you later this evening to ask you if you’d heard anything new. Thanks for keeping us posted.

I felt my heart drop while watching that. You know… the aerial search thing…like they’re looking for a body. And, everytime I see her license plate I want to cry.

I think Beany’s disappearance has heightened the disconnect I sometimes feel between the “friends” I’ve made while blogging and what’s happening out there in the “real world.” Thank you for keeping us up-to-date.

Crap. I haven’t been to your site in like a couple of days and I get all sorts of information. I frequently check out the nasty perverts that live in our area. Thank God….I’m in a good area.

I’m praying for Sheila (Beany). This is so surreal. So crazy.

And btw….I laughed my fool butt off about your comment to my blog….seriously?? Popcorn??? We are like twins seperated at birth. The same sick sense of humor. I love my twin……

You and Sue (Beggars Shot Glass) have done an incredible job of keeping this story on the front burner with the authorities in Alaska. What amazes me is that it took 2 determined women from Florida and Pennsylvania to get them off their asses. Thank you both.

I’m following this case from Australia and I can’t understand how Beany’s disappearance is unexplained.

I followed from Sue’s blog. I cannot imagine somebody disappearing this completely in the United States where they investigate every little thing! Here close to Mexico…we have people go missing a lot…but usually are tracked back to kidnapping due to the drug cartels. Once in a great moon, you hear of somebody getting snatched from a parking lot in a big city…but here, you are talking about a basically deserted highway. I hope they find her, for her families sake.
