The Actors Studio wants to know
You may have seen the Will Ferrell parodies on SNL of Inside the Actors Studio host James Lipton ~ they are dead on. Host of the BravoTV show, Lipton interviews actors, screenwriters, musicians, directors and other Hollywood insiders. At the end of each interview he asks 10 questions. I’ve always thought these were some really good questions.
In the spirit of NaBloPoMo… and an increasingly difficult time coming up with new ideas, I give you the Lipton Ten, with the fervent hope that a few of you (who may be equally strapped for post ideas) will answer the questions yourself. (Or just leave a list of your own in the comments.)
1. What is your favorite word? Curmudgeon
2. What is your least favorite word? Commentator
3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? Peace and quiet, small everyday miracles, and knowing without a doubt that I have people in my life who love me unconditionally
4. What turns you off creatively, spiritually or emotionally? Bigotry and hate, ignorance and intolerance where there should be none, mean people
5. What sound or noise do you love? A baby laughing
6. What sound or noise do you hate? A test of the Emergency Broadcast system7. What is your favorite curse word? Shit!
8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? Bookstore owner
9. What profession would you not like to do? Fast food cook10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? Welcome home! We’ve been waiting for you.
Ooh, I definitely dislike that Emergency Broadcast System noise! What a great idea for a post – the Lipton 10. I may just have to try this one.

[Tara R.] Candace… no apologies needed.The last thing we heard was that there were no plans for a continued search. No leads, no evidence to point to foul play, nothing. I have set up a Google News update account to get email notices for any news reports. If I hear ANYTHING, I will pass it on.
Did you know, that Mr. Lipton voiced the part of Dan Reed, the Lone Ranger’s nephew, on the radio? This was in 1957 – so it was 51 years ago.
And I’m with you – that Emergency Broadcast System noise is the most annoying sound out there.
[Tara R.] Lou… that’s cool about Lipton. I really do enjoy his show. That EBS noise is nothing short of torture.
Commentators is one of my least favourite words, too. Along with Guestimate. Gah. Even seeing it.
[Tara R.] Zoeyjane… oh yeah, guestimate is a nasty one too.
hmm.. my least favorite word would have to be diet.. lol..

[Tara R.] River Poet… when I graduated from college, my aunt took me to NYC as a graduation gift. While there we stopped at this incredible bookstore. It was run by this little old women who had an almost mystic reputation. It was part bookstore, part antique store… it was the most incredible place. Since then I have wanted a place just like that.

Every Thursday night around 12am, they do the TV broadcasting test. I hate that sound.
