Random Wednesday ~ anger
2008 August 13

‘The greatest remedy for anger is delay’ ~ Seneca (Roman philosopher, mid-1st century AD)
‘There are two things a person should never be angry at, what they can help, and what they cannot’ ~ Plato (Ancient Greek philosopher, 428 BC-348 BC)
‘Anyone can become angry – that is easy, but to be angry with the right person at the right time, and for the right purpose and in the right way – that is not within everyone’s power and that is not easy’ ~ Aristole (Ancient Greek philosopher, scientist and physician, 384 BC-322 BC)
‘Those whom God wishes to destroy, he first makes angry’ ~ Euripides (Ancient Greek tragedian, ca. 480 BC–406 BC)

Your timing on this one, for me, is amazing…
[Tara R.] Stacey… I’m glad this might have helped in someway. I’ve been working on my own anger issues lately and thought I needed to share.
Thank you for posting this today. I struggle so much with anger, and it is a work in progress for me; I think will post these quotes on my fridge and mirror and PC moniter to remind me of what I already know-but forget.
I have to comment on your new header quote about the cats – LOVE it
[Tara R.] April… glad you like!
Pollo has been the most fun cat we’ve had so far. Some evenings we turn of the TV and just watch her. I also have no doubts that if we were to piss her off, she would pee in our computer.
Oh so true!! I’ve been trying to work on this. Trying hard.
[Tara R.] Momo… for me, it’s a constant battle.
Buddah’s is awesome…I’ve never heard that before.
[Tara R.] MP… it was funny. I tell my kids something very similar to that… the only person they hurt by being mad is themselves.
Great message. So many people need to learn that lesson, myself included!
[Tara R.] Cyndy… no one more than I, needs to heed these messages.
Wise man, that Buddha!
[Tara R.] Sarah… yes, he was.
These are fantastic. Thank you for sharing them with us.as
[Tara R.] Dingo… now, if I can just put them to work in my own life.
The wisdom of the ages. Wise then. Even wiser now.
[Tara R.] Lou… I liked that each of these quotes was centuries old, and still just as significant to our lives today.
Anger, that beast of burdon that feels like an obligation… oh this is such a good post Tara!!
Love you!!
[Tara R.] Piper… that is the perfect description. Mwah!
I have problems holding on to anger, I don’t know, sometimes I just can’t let things go.
[Tara R.] Allie… I try to practice what I preach, but sometimes it is SO hard to not be angry.
Great quotes. I’m stealing them & printing them off right now!
[Tara R.] Eve…there yours. Enjoy!
Oh, anger. My old friend. Or is it nemesis?
[Tara R.] NOLA… sometimes that two-headed monster is a welcome ally, but other times it will turn and threaten to devour me.
I love these quotes! I heard somewhere recently that the hormones that cause anger and rage will dissipate in about 90 seconds if you do nothing and don’t reactivate the thought that made you angry in the first place.
[Tara R.] W.shoes… I’ve never heard that about anger, but it makes sense. I’ll try that the next time I get angry. Thanks!
