Pity Party

I’ve been smug, lording my superior immune system over all those unfortunates who have been sidelined by colds, flu and other varied and sundry ague. I successfully navigated fall and winter ick-season, and side-stepped Spring hayfever attacks.
When the mighty fall, they fall hard…
Not only did I succumb to a viral sinus infection, but that bad-boy moved into my right ear and eye.
I thought pink eye was just a kid thing… my bad.
Dude, OUCH.
[Tara R.] Mr Lady… thanks, it itches like crazy.
Oh, man, that SO sucks. And I bet it hurst and itches like hell-like, I don’t know, a yeast infection, only in your eye. Eeew.
[Tara R.] Kori… it feel like sand under my eye lid… and we won’t go into the truly gross aspects of this eye ick.
OMG…Feel better soon! Looks like you might have to visit Ye Olde Family Doctor for that! And don’t forget to disinfect your keyboard–at both work & at home!
[Tara R.] Melissa B… yeah, I saw her this morning and have this nasty ointment I have to use. I’ve got a bottle of hand sanitizer that I’m going through like water.
Oh that looks painful…

[Tara R.] Jill… thanks, I think that I’ll milk this with my peeps for as long as I can… being that when they are sick, they are a BIG BUNCH of babies.
Oh man, that sucks! When my baby had pink eye, guess who got it? Me. My first time ever, too. Oh and I asked the dr. if I could have drops instead of ointment, it was called Visomox if I remember correctly. Waking up and not physically being able to open your eye is a bugger!
[Tara R.] Ata… that was my first clue, when at 2 a.m. I couldn’t open my eye and it was gross, nasty, crunchy.
At least it wasn’t one of these pansy type summer colds that people complain about — when you go, you go BIG!! Why have a normal cold when you can look like Cylcops from X-Men? Did your ickiness come with superpowers?

I don’t want to tempt fate….but I’ve never had the eye of pink. I have never been as thankful for that fact as I was upon seeing your pink-ture. (GET IT!?! HAH!!)
I have, however, had the ick move into my ears. And that hurts like a BEEE-YOTCH!! (Except for when it’s starting to clear up, and then it starts itching. Which might be worse!)

I’ve had a sinus infection since March. I’m on my third antibiotics and my eyes are slightly swollen, my ears are clogged(handy when my hubby is talking to me)and the ever present congestion. You have an complete empathy and a HUG to help a teensy bit.

When I worked in child care, I got pink eye ALL the time.

Heh. I once had a friend/co-worker ask that I put drops in her eyes, she just couldn’t do it herself. After I did it, she told me the drops were for her pink eye. I FREAKED OUT and Lysoled every surface of my office. She mocked me. Then she had the pink eye go into her, like, blood stream or something else equally as serious. She got very sick and lost a week of work. Yeah, pink eye is nooooo fun and certainly not just for kids.
Soooo sorry!!! Ouch!

This is how my eyes are feeling everyday with a late allergy season among us here.
