Random Wednesday

Mother’s Day is Sunday. While I will be phoning my mom with well wishes and to tell her how much I love her and miss her, I will also be hugging my own children and telling THEM how much I love being a mom, THEIR mom. Because they are what it’s all about.

(A handpainted gift from my daughter, JM)

“The child must know that he is a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn’t been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like him.” ~  Pablo Casals (Spanish cellist and conductor, 1876-1973)

“If you want your children to improve, let them overhear the nice things you say about them to others.” ~ Dr. Haim Ginott (Author and psychotherapist, 1922-1973)

“A child enters your home and makes so much noise for twenty years that you can hardly stand it: then departs leaving the house so silent that you think you will go mad” ~ John Andrew Holmes (American physician and writer, born 1874)

Those are beautiful quotes there; thank you for sharing them!

[Tara R.] Kori… your welcome. Happy Mom’s Day!

I love that middle quote! Very smart!!

[Tara R.] MP… we could use that advice with just about everyone. ;)

Those are wonderful quotes, the last made me teary!

Happy Mother’s Day to you!!

[Tara R.] Atandrade… it got me all choked up too. I have one out and one to go. It really is quieter in my house. Happy Mom’s Day!

Aw sweet!

[Tara R.] Ashley… Happy Mom’s Day!

I’m such a huge fan of Dr. Ginott’s!

[Tara R.] April… I loved that quote! Sometimes we DO need to brag about our kids TO our kids. Happy Mom’s Day.

That is so sweet, I need to get something for my mom, it’ll probably just end up being a card and I’ll have the kids make her something.

[Tara R.] Allie… I would rather have something my kids made for me than just about anything else… diamonds are nice though. ;)

Love the quotes, esp. the first. Obvs, you are a wonderful mom!

[Tara R.] Eve… glad you like these. You’d have to ask my kids (on a good day) what sort of mom I am. :D

What a lovely gift from your daughter!!! And those are beautiful quotes indeed.
Happy Mother’s Day to you!!!

[Tara R.] Karen… thanks, she is very artistic too. Glad you enjoyed the quotes, and a Happy Mom’s Day as well!

The handpainted gift exceeds, in my mind, any store-bought gift you could have received. If you’re like me, those little things have lived on my closet shelf long after the cheezy purchased gifts have gone to the landfill. Happy Mother’s Day!

[Tara R.] Angela… I agree. If my kids take the time to make something for me, it is definitely more precious to me. Happy Mom’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day!
I love that handpainted sign.

[Tara R.] Cyndy… thanks, it’s hanging in my new office. It’s the first thing I see every morning when I come in the room. Happy Mom’s Day!

Awesome quotes. I can’t believe it’s Mother’s Day already. Wow.

[Tara R.] Maria… it snuck up on me too. Happy Mom’s Day!

awwwwhhhhh, love what ~J made for ya! precious.

great day girlie, beany :)

[Tara R.] Beany… thanks, she’s a good kid. Happy Mom’s Day!

I love the spin you put on Mother’s Day. My kids are teens now, and they’ll be gone before I know it! :(

[Tara R.] Half-Past… the last quote made me all verklempt. My house is actually quieter with one kid out of the nest. My youngest only has three years of HS left. Then it will be WAY too quiet.

My youngest (17) wants to take me to NYC for a combo Mom’s Day/Birthday present. She wants me to pay. What’s wrong with this picture? I guess it’s the thought that counts, right? :)

[Tara R.] Melissa B… it does sound like a fun weekend. I might do something like that with my oldest….she’s going to be 19 in a couple months. I might not have many more opportunties to have just some ‘us’ time.

Thanks T.. I am teary eyed in my office because of these sweet quotes.. I love the painting from your daughter.. so special.

[Tara R.] Kim… thanks, she made one for Hubs that I still can’t look at without getting teary. Happy Mom’s Day!

How wonderfully perfect.

Happy Mother’s Day!

[Tara R.] Laura… thanks so much! Happy Mom’s Day!

That gift is so lovely. I just got my first drawing from Bug. It was a Momma Tree, drawn as a series of scribbles that are suppose to resemble the flowering bush outside the house that he picks me flowers from. Hence, the name Momma Tree. Oh, the love.

[Tara R.] Converse… that is so very cool! I like that, a Momma Tree. Happy Mom’s Day!

This will be my first Mother’s Day and I feel weird that there’s such a fuss over me! Love the quotes.

[Tara R.] Nola… oh, new momma, bask in the adoration, you’ve earned it! Let them fuss, cuz this glorious day only comes around once a year. :D Happy Mom’s Day!

I love the handpainted gift from your daughter! So sweet!

[Tara R.] Nissa… thanks, she does really pretty paintings.

What a lovely gift! Happy Mother’s Day to you!

[Tara R.] Groovy… thanks, and a Happy Mom Day to you too!

That is the cutest mother’s day card I’ve ever seen. Happy Mother’s Day to you.

[Tara R.] CableGirl… thanks! Happy Mom’s Day to you too.
