Pretty in Pink

2008 March 21

If you haven’t loaded up with Easter goodies yet, you may want to look for these… Pink M&Ms and Pink Hershey Kisses.

M&Ms is donating $550,000 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the two-toned pink candies, both plain and peanut, are “a sweet, simple way to cheer patients, friends and loved one.” Hershey’s is teaming with Youth Survival Coalition, pledging $300,000 to this worthy organization.

The Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the largest non-profit organization dedicated to breast cancer awareness and research. The YSC  is an international, non-profit network of young breast cancer survivors and supporters.

Kisses sm

According to the YSC Web site, there are more than 250,000 women, age 40 and under, in the U.S. living with this disease, and an additional 11,100 will be diagnosed this year.

Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in women ages 15-54. Statistics tell us that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.

Treat yourself to a sweet little sumpin’, sumpin’ and maybe help save a life….  (Don’t forget to visit my sidebar and Click Every Day to help provide free mammograms)

I also love when companies have causes like these. Where it is something you would buy anyways so your money get to go to something that helps

I walked in the 60 mile breast cancer 3-day last year. I thought about doing it this year, but probably won’t. I’ll buy a bunch of pink m&m’s instead! Yum. ;-)

I’ll get a bag for sure. I wish I could say it was ONLY for this reason. But honestly, if they came out with a bag of pitch black M&M’s to support every stupid thing I hate….well….they’re still yummy M&M’s. Dude….they melt in your mouth…not in your hand.

    ;)
