Beach Before

BEFORE

We aren’t even into the peak tourist part of Spring Break and they just keep coming.

This is only the second full week of the SB season and UF, FSU and most of the other southern colleges are here. We still don’t have a winner in the ‘coed naked balcony diving’ lottery, but soon, soon!

Beach after

AFTER

This is nothing like it will be. By this time next week, or the first of April, you won’t be able to see any empty sand. Traffic is mild, but the weather was been nice so most of the SBers aren’t on the road.

I may need some place to hide out over the summer. Any suggestions?

We live on the beach too, but it’s not that bad yet, so feel free to come on down to Wilmington, NC!!

I can’t suggest anything. I’m landlocked. It looks beautiful though without people cluttering up the coast. haha.

  3. 2008 March 14

You can up to Lawng Island to visit!!! :)

  4. 2008 March 14

I want to live where you are!

  5. 2008 March 14

How about you drive up here & bring some of that warmth! I can’t believe it’s still wintery cold in Ga.

  6. 2008 March 14

Oh that sand is beautiful, not at all like our nasty, dirty, brown Texas beaches!

  7. 2008 March 14

Sorry, but you have to stay there and continue to photo-document the craziness for us! Maybe all of us can pretend we’re that age again, and live vicariously thru them…and then go hug our families and be glad to be us!

Sure, come on up to Ohio for awhile. Then you’ll say you can’t wait to get back home!

You know you can always visit us in the beautiful mountains! By the way, just so you know, it’s RACE weekend here in the Tri-Cities. My advice, stay out of their way.

You DON’T want to come to Minnesota. It was beautiful yesterday, but it’s all slushy snow and mud. And I’m not entirely sure we’re clear of snowstorms just yet. Then again, maybe you do want to come here. I’ll trade ya.

Yeah I’m landlocked too. But I do live next the the beautiful Missouri River. The first picture is so beautiful….I may steal it for my desktop wallpaper…it looks so soothing.

    Hey Tara,

You’re always welcome at my house!

  13. 2008 March 14

Ah yes, Spring Break. When I lived on south beach, SB’s were a nightmare for our city. I would literally leave my apartment for a week and stay at a friends just to keep away from the chaos.

You’re welcome to stay with us! But it’s about 40F degrees here :)

When I lived in Pensacola, I loved it when tourist season was in full swing. There were so many people to meet and watch and make our city go ’round. Here in New Orleans, I live in a neighborhood where tourists take photos of our house and yards and me walking the dog all the time. I’ve learned to embrace tourists. It’s hard at times, especially when they are college students intent on getting drunk.

I’m blog hopping early because there are so many of us that I can’t get to them all!–HP

Yeah, here’s my suggestion: Don’t come to Miami. more speedos and topless bathers per square inch on South Beach that I thought scientifically possible.

I hate Spring Break season in Florida. My sympathies to you guys.

We have a spare room, nice, cozy, within biking distance of the the bay beach, and a short drive to the ocean. I’d be happy to let you come and babysit, I mean relax here for awhile.

This why I am thankful many days that the goal of our local government is to keep the ‘nature coast’…..the ‘nature’ coast.

  25. 2008 March 17

Oh, I am SO not looking forward to the beach and the traffic around here in the summer! It goes from nice and peaceful to crazy! And, I LIKE empty sand!!

  26. 2008 March 17

Wow, it’s so beautiful…can we come down and stay there?? It’s gorgeous. But I fully understand the tourist thing. I’m sure I’ve posted or commented about how crazy Vancouver gets in the summer months.

    Hey, Miss Tara. Freddy here.
Come see me in Texas! Mama’s been getting the pool cleaned religiously allllllll winter…just so it’ll be ready for the summer. It’d be a shame if nobody came to use it with her this summer!

    Deuces,
    Freddy.
