Little red Corvette?

Saturday Hubs brings me home a new toy –  shiny metallic red with oh, so many special attachments. I wasn’t feeling well last that night so I didn’t get a good look at this marvel of modern technology. Really I was just ticked off at the Hubs for being a jerk about something, so I didn’t want to try out my new play thing. In fact, I basically ignored his thoughtful gesture. But yesterday, I got took it out for a spin.

Hubs couldn’t wait to show off all the special features. How it had both a detachable and telescoping handle, multi-tasking attachments, and he was epecially careful to point out how quiet it was. Quiet is good.

I have to admit, it is very sleek. Easily maneuverable, and the fancy extras can get into little cracks and crevasses that my old clunker could never reach. There are variable speeds, and other interesting options. It even has a light so I can use it in the dark.

I thought I would share… here are some pix of my new toy…

What did you think I was talking about?

I was just thinking as I was doing my chores this weekend that I need a new one of those so I want details … does it work as good as it was promised, is it heavy, etc. Even though its supposed to be one of her weekly chores, my pre-teen whines and won’t use the current one that was my birthday present/house warming gift (from my other half – don’t you love it?) a year and a half ago because it’s too heavy and really doesn’t do the job. Basically, I HATE IT but can’t say anything because my family looked so proud when they presented it to me. Any suggestions?? BTW, must be nice having such a thoughtful hubbie (HA) – give him my regards.

Mel: It really does work great. Has three hepa filters and a bag that I can just throw out instead of trying to clean a canister.

Dina: It is very lightweight… even WK got excited about it and cleaned the blades on our ceiling fan in the living room. It was worth it just for that.

It is sad though that I have reached an age that a new vacuum cleaner is a reason for celebration. Blah!

Oh how I need a new vacuum. Mine has been on its last legs for, oh say a year now.

I officially have vacuum envy. Is that sad? Yeah, I think I”m starting to border on frumpy. lol

Please tell me the gift was not his way of making up for being a jerk. Vacuum cleaners as peace offerings are not romantic at all. ;-)

But it is a nice one!

Groovy Mom: No, the vacuum was something he would have brought home anyway. I think he was actually in the process of gettng it, when we had the phone conversation where he was being the jerk.

Man, used to be a time where I would have shot my husband if he brought me home a new appliance. Now I have to beg!!

Why does a pic of a new vaccuum make me smile.. Oh yeah, because I am getting old and actually like things like this now..

It is beautiful T!! I wish you many long years together..

It’s a beauty, Tara. I’m even a little jealous. Something like that could really get me in the mood.

  13. 2008 March 10

    To clean, you dirty birdies.

  14. 2008 March 10

Awesome. When I was a little girl, my mom had a cannister vac that was (of course) much bulkier. I named it R2D2. Yeah, I was a dork…but it was right after the movie came out.

    I added you to my blogroll….hope that’s ok! :)

    Cheers.

If you run out of things to vacuum, our house could use some help!

I remember when I got a new vacuum last year and how excited I was. It was the saddest thing when I realized how domestic I had become!

  21. 2008 March 10

Wow!That’s one hot looking toy ;) I likey!

  22. 2008 March 10

My DH is the vacuum connoisseur of the house. He is obsessed with vacumming – he would appreciate your new toy! I, on the other hand, am not sure how to even turn our vacuum on – he never lets me use it. I guess I am lucky that my DH is so vacuum obsessed! LOL

  23. 2008 March 10

I’m jealous. My vaccum is forest green and not super shiny red like yours.

    Boo.
