Scrolling Saturdays

Scrolling Saturday

This has been a week of frustrations for me… boss is out of town for two weeks and since I’m the only other person in our department, that means a lot of busy work. Frustration with getting WK’s school guidance counselor to call us back about scheduling a second monster conference with all his teachers. Frustration in getting all our tax return prep finished and frustration in… well you name it.

So, for today’s Scrolling Saturday redeux…

From Oct. 10, 2007, I could just scream

Friday is International Moment of Frustration Scream Day.

At noon I will be outside screaming for about 30 seconds.(The recommended scream duration.)

I am expected to be in a FULL staff meeting (replete with department heads, executive directors and our company vice president) at that same time, wonder if our VP will mind. She probably has a lot of frustrations as a corporate leader, maybe she’ll join me.

As a mom of two teens, or just two kids, I have a lot of frustration to vent. As a working mom and working woman – lots of frustration. As a wife, daughter, sister – lots of frustration. As a female – frustration enough to share.

Maybe 30 seconds isn’t long enough.

Consider this my Top Ten list of pet peeves and my reasons for frustration:

  • Knowing on a daily basis that I am the only sane, and capable driver on the road between my house and my office.
  • Having only a wimpy car horn to let them know that.
  • Having to endure BOTH a mammogram and ultrasound during my annual exam because my insurance won’t pay for the second without the first, and in over 10 years the first has never been reliable.
  • Trying to have an adult relationship with my brother who thinks we are still in grade school.
  • Having the same disagreements with my kids about – chores, money, school, pets, computers, television shows… blah, blah, blah.
  • Having the metabolism of a snail and not being able to lose that last 10 pounds.
  • Writing this blog and having to beg friends to add comments – I’m a big girl, I can take it. Let me know how you really feel.
  • Trying to find clothes styles somewhere between my daughter and my mother.
  • No open hunting season on pedophiles or rapists.
  • Politicians.

What frustrates you? Join me Friday and let it all out. It’s much more fun to commiserate with friends.

Wow – I feel like I wrote this list. I’ll add you to my blogroll and try valiantly to comment every day if it’ll help.

I’m sorry I missed the original post! Can we have a do-over?

I feel your frustration! By the end of the workweek, I pretty much hated everyone at work, save 2 people, who are dear enough to listen to me bitch about everyone else!
Today, though, is Saturday, and I’m feeling so much better. Hope you are, too!

My biggest frustration (work) laid me off, so my frustration level is greatly reduced! However, my two biggest frustrations are:
        - reasoning with my (almost) 6-year old
        - Dell computer support–I’m been fighting with them for a month and for hte third time they sent the wrong part!

This has been a week of frustrations for me too. You’ve covered a few of mine. I’m glad I made it to the weekend in one piece.

Oh, this was great! Did you feel better after you wrote it? I always feel better, just to get the words out. But, a scream? That just seems so primal and it would feel SO GOOD!

      10. 2008 March 8

        This is a fantastic list!

So how long did ths scream fest actually last and did it help? I wind up going out into my backyard and screaming at least once a month. I’m sure my neighbors think I’m insane. lol

      11. 2008 March 8

        Those were hilarious!

        And number 9? Oh, yeah!

      12. 2008 March 8

All: Yes, I did scream and it felt great, but had to wait until the drive home. Lasted a good two minutes… I had the sunroof open in the car and just let loose. I will be celebrating IMFSD again this year. We should make it a group scream… I’ll send reminders out. =)

      13. 2008 March 8

That is such a great list! So glad you re-posted.
I’d like to add to my list:

        - In-laws who can rival any Jerry Springer guests.
        - Winter….that lasts for far too long.

      14. 2008 March 9

I so feel your frustrations! Yep this is what my list would look like too but I have to throw in the crazy winter weather that just won’t stop being so darn crazy! I hope you are feeling a little better today!

      15. 2008 March 9

LMAO! The metabolism of a snail. I actually did ‘LOL’ on that one. You are funny GF. Great list and two words…Ann Taylor. I love buying clothes for my wife there. :)

      16. 2008 March 9

Great list. Hope tomorrow is frustration free.

      17. 2008 March 9

Can I admit to you that my list of frustrations has remained consistant for like the past nine months? Sad, but true..

I loved your list! And I am totally the same with the driving.. I believe I am the only sane person driving..LOL

Hope you had a great weekend! :)

      18. 2008 March 10

I think all of those are my same frustrations!!
I hope this week is a little less stressful for you, Tara!
